Sales and Reservation Officer

Job Summary:
The Sales and Reservation Officer is responsible for promoting and selling the
company’s travel and tour packages, managing client reservations, and providing
excellent customer service. The role involves maintaining relationships with clients,
ensuring efficient booking processes, and achieving sales targets to contribute to
the company’s growth.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales and Marketing

  • Promote and sell travel packages, tours, and related services to
    individual and group clients.
  • Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients to encourage repeat
    business and referrals.
  • Identify new business opportunities and actively participate in
    marketing campaigns.

2. Reservations Management:

  • Handle client inquiries and provide tailored travel solutions including
    itineraries, and air tickets.
  • Manage and confirm bookings for accommodations, transportation,
    and other travel-related services.
  • Ensure all reservations are accurately processed and confirmed in a
    timely manner.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and partners to ensure smooth service
    delivery.

3. Customer Service:

  • Address customer questions, complaints, and special requests
    promptly and professionally.
  • Provide clients with travel advice, including itinerary planning, visa
    requirements, and travel insurance.
  • Follow up with client’s post-trip to gather feedback and build loyalty.

4. Administrative Tasks:

  • Maintain up-to-date records of bookings, payments, and sales
    activities.
  • Prepare sales and reservation reports as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

5. Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the marketing, operations, and finance teams to
    ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving
    services and achieving sales goals.

6. Market Research and Competitor Analysis:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and
    emerging destinations.
  • Provide recommendations for new travel products or service
    enhancements.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Tourism, Hospitality Management,
    Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

2. Experience:

  • Experience in sales, reservations, or customer service, preferably
    within the travel and tourism industry.
  • Familiarity with booking systems, travel platforms, and reservation
    tools is essential.

3. Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of Global Distribution Systems (GDS) like Amadeus,
    Galileo, or Sabre is a strong advantage.

4. Sales and Customer Service Skills:

  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Strong negotiation, persuasive communication, and interpersonal
    skills.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and resolve issues
    professionally.

5. Industry Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive understanding of travel and tourism products,
    including destinations, accommodations, and transportation.
  • Awareness of visa requirements, travel regulations, and itinerary
    planning.

6. Personal Attributes:

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively.
  • Team player with strong collaboration skills.
  • Flexibility to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

7. Language Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
