The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has ushered in a new era for the private sector workforce through the Labour Institutions (Minimum Wage for Private Sector) Order, 2025, published in Government Notice No. 605A and set to take effect on 1st January 2026. This Order, issued under the Labour Institutions Act, Cap. 300, replaces the Minimum Wage Order of 2022 (GN 687), introducing significant updates that reflect the changing labour market, economic conditions, and Tanzania’s broader development agenda.
